Each year, FAME picks a culture to use as a focus for our entire year's arts programs. Since we have gone around the world since 1987, we are pleased to collaborate with the Sister Cities International in highlighting the three Fort Wayne Sister Cities, Gera, Germany; Plock, Poland and Takaoka, Japan for 2010.
Artists from each country will be representing the culture and arts of their countries to thousands of school children in a three weeks residency in Indiana. Please see schedule on our website plus information about the artists. We will have a student art exchange with Gera and Plock.
In the 23 years that FAME has been founded, we have reached over 3,000,000 students with our programs, which includes two separate weeks of a resident FAME Arts Camp in late July and early August.
Since our beginning, we are the largest single event at the Grand Wayne Center with more than 15,000 people participating and attending the two day event in downtown Fort Wayne.
Besides the 44 performances by our talented school groups and 60 schools for our art displays, we will have visiting artists, and the Concert with the FW Philharmonic on Sunday, March 14th at 3:00 p.m.
Please come for this spectacular event with collaboration with the PHIL and the FW Ballet at FAME as we showcase two collaborative programs, FAME Composition Project and the Fusion of Concert Colors.
